I can remember the day this photo was taken - it was a McGilvery family get-together at my aunt, May Alroy's (nee McGilvery) place in High Street, Southport in Queensland. Those attending were Gran, May McGilvery, her brother Bob Munro, May Alroy's six children and her Mother-in-law, Tom & Val McGilvery and eight of their ten children, My cousin Betty Donges and her five children, and my mother Moira Bray (nee McGilvery) and her four children. I am guessing this photo was taken in 1962, from the age of the baby Brett Alroy.
From the left at the back is my mum Moira Bray (nee McGilvery), then Betty Donges (nee English) in the dark clothing; I think the man is John Alroy; and the obscured face beside him is unknown; I am standing at the rear (head showing in between Bob and May) then the lady standing next to me at the rear is, I think, Nell Curd (nee McGilvery); the boy at rear and looking away from the camera is Michael Alroy; John McGilvery is looking over Michael's shoulder; Cheryl McGilvery; my sister Garland Bray (face partly obscured) then Tom & Val McGilvery at rear.
The front Row: my sister Judith Bray looking downwards; not sure about the next two children; Barbara Donges is looking behind at someone; not sure who is behind Barbara; to the right of Barbara are two of her brothers; and Doreen Donges is standing behind her brothers with her face obsured; next is Uncle Bob Munro (gran's brother); looking over his shoulder is Mal Alroy; then gran May McGilvery (nee Munro) who has her had on Scott Alroy's shoulder; the next lady is Mary Blackley (John Alroy's mother); then Shane & Boyd Alroy; the boy standing to the rear of Shane and Boyd is unknown; behind Boyd shoulder is Carol McGilvery (she is obsuring Garland's face); maybe that is Barry McGilvery ? standing in front of his parents Tom & Val; then on the far right is May Alroy (nee McGilvery) nursing Brett Alroy.
