Sheep don't have beautiful white wool in Australia - not in the western regions.  They usually scatter off when I come close - I managed to get these two drinking from a dam at Walebing, Western Australia.  I used my 400mm lens, so didn't come out too bad since the bright sun was in front of me.

The wind blows hard and strong on the west coast of Australia.  Many trees grow leaning heavily over to one side with the branches and leaves blown off on the windy side.  Finally, as a result of the weight on one side of the trunk, they topple over and grow happily resting on the ground.

HMAS Sydney II Memorial at Mount Scott, Geraldton in Western Australia overlooking the Indian Ocean. The same ocean where HMAS Sydney II fought its last battle and was sunk with the loss of all 645 men. The Dome of Souls is comprised of 645 seagulls representing each of the men lost in the tragedy.

Bronze statue of a drought horse and kelpie in front of a mural depicting the district's agricultural heritage in Federation Park, Moora, Western Australia. The statues and mural are a lasting memorial to the animals that were essential in opening up the area in the early years.

Water Wheel at Cape Leeuwin, Augusta, Western Australia.  Cape Leeuwin is the most south westerly cape in Western Australia. This water wheel was used to provide water for the lighthouse on the cape and the four houses where the lighthouse workers lived.

  • Reading Room in the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  This building is absolutely beautiful.  I hope to see more of it next time I make it to Victoria.  The library holds over two million books.  It has a huge dome ceiling.
